His fragrance doesn’t smell of amber, but of cypriol, orange and black pepper. It changes from moment to moment. Go and take it in. One minute you’re in an Indian market and the next you’re in the orange groves of Florida.

The first time I ever heard the name Issey Miyake I was selling men’s fragrance, and then I discovered that he has his own crazy world of fashion and expression.

Every chance we get to see his work we have another chance to marvel at this his off-kilter point of view, his bent towards technology, and the crisp lines that influence creates.

I know not everyone can travel to France to see a fashion show, but what a joy it would be to see his work in person!

Ever said to yourself “Man, [fill in the blank] looks great even in a pair of jeans and t-shirt!”? Well, you can too. Back to School this year means simple.

Take a polo out of your closet and throw it together with your favorite jean. Your jeans don’t have to be pristine or perfect. Your polo doesn’t have to be this perfect solid color (or even by Polo.) You just need the combo…jeans…shirt.

If you don’t like polos and prefer nice t-shirts, go for it. You could even wear a nice white tee right out of the package and make this look work. Just remember a few things:

Always make sure you’re not wearing a wrinkled shirt…a nicely pressed shirt helps pull this look off.

The jeans can be any jeans, as long as they fit…baggy jeans will kill this look in a heartbeat.

Pair this with your favorite pair of casual shoes and you’re off. Don’t’ ruin it with sneakers. If you want sneakers wear something from Diesel or Steve Madden. Otherwise, a nice loafer or lace-up will do the trick.

With Fall comes new clothes, new trends, new needs, new wants and colder temperatures.

Fall Men’s clothing is seeing many new trends. In order to make my point we’ll stick to Alfred Dunhill for the Fall of 2009.

Just looking at the collection you should know a few things:

You can wear a tie with anything. Pair a nice rectangular tie with a sweater or long-sleeved polo. Your Suit is not the only appropriate place for a tie,

Get a hat! Not the cap of your favorite…an actual hat. Find a local haberdashery and find a nice hat in a neutral color that you can pair with all of your fall outfits, not just your formal looks.

Just because you’re going to be wearing heavier pants does not mean they need to sag or have pleats. A pant that fits correctly flatters you and makes you look like you care about how you dress.

Enjoy the Fall and all of its new possibilities. It’s my favorite season and it should be yours too!

The first time I read something about the goth/ninja trend I was…baffled. Then as I looked at what that “trend’ actually was I realized it isn’t really goth.ninja as much as it is covered and fitted.

Sure, some of the looks you’ll see DO look like ninja garb, but that’s not the point. The point is: you should have clothes that fit you, that fit your figure (yes, men have figures too) and clothes that cover you when it gets cold so your little tootsies don’t freeze.

Think of “Fitted and Covered” this way:

1. You can cover yourself with a hat…even a big one.
2. You can cover yourself with a scarf…just make sure to actually wrap your neck and not let it hang all over you.
3. You can cover yourself with a heavy vest…you don’t always have to have a jacket or coat.
4. You can wear fitted clothes that are made of appropriate materials and not freeze…appropriate Fall materials include suede, wool, tweed, and the like.

Keep these things in mind and you can still be stealth in your “in-styleness” and NOT necessarily look like a ninja.
