No one likes to be a guy when it’s hot outside and you only have one option for work…the dreaded shirt and tie. Even if you’re a suit person you can make your outfit more adaptable to this insane summer heat.

If you don’t own a linen suit don’t go buy one, we’re not trying to make you look like an 80 year old guy who walks the streets of South Beach.

Do you have a linen button down? Pair that with your dress pants.

Do you have a linen tie? Try that with your typical dress shirt.

Do you work in a highly dressy office? Make a good roll on your sleeves. Be sure to use the cuff as a guide. You could roll your sleeves 3-4 times, which will bring them right below your elbow, and still look professional.

Do you work in a slightly less dressy office? Keep a good knot in your tie, but feel free to unbutton the top button of your shirt and slightly loosen your tie away from you neck. Keeping the knot healthy and your tie straight will keep you looking like a pro who’s burning up…not a slob.
